Hello all. Sorry for the break in updating. I've been keeping other social media sites well updated so hopefully you haven't missed anything. I two big shows coming up this Spring/Summer so far. First, on Thursday, May 10th I will be playing a two hour solo set at Dorothy's Music Room, in Trumansburg, NY. Second, I will be playing the opening day of the Lansing Farmer's Market on Saturday, June 9th, 9-12:30. Stop on by, fun is sure to be had by all.

Next, we have upped our little video production operation with the addition of a new camera and more manpower! I hope that these increases in quality will elevate my still very humble videos to some degree. Find the new videos on my YouTube channel!

Finally, I have a brand-spanking-new-Facebook Page (I know, I've finally joined the century). Be sure to head over there and "like" me. Since everyone is on Facebook and it is mostly me and the mice rattling away over at this little website, most of the updating and new content will be coming through that channel for the time being. So be sure to like it, and stay in the loop!

Dorothy's Recap 02/16/2012

Well Dorothy's sure was fun. I played two short sets, got to meet some awesome musicians/listeners from the T-burg area, and had a few tasty beers. Not bad, I'd say. I'll be headed back there in a few weeks, so check back for details. Here's a video from the night

Thanks for listening, and please join the mailing list if you'd like to hear more!

If you live in the Ithaca/Trumansburg area, be sure to stop by Dorothy's Music Room tomorrow night, 7-9PM. I'll be playing a short set, and there will be a few other people playing as well. It's free and open to the public, so come enjoy some food, drink, and live music!

Josh Ritter is such a great songwriter. I really appreciate the raw quality he brings to his singing and recording: the idea that it is the song that matters, and the performance is but a vehicle for it to shine through. I recorded a cover of one of my favorites by him, "Change of Time."

I love this song because of its strange mixture of happiness and sadness, contentment, comfort, and struggle. When I'm up, I play it. When I'm down, I play it. For me it's the musical equivalent to a cup of hot tea. Thanks for listening.

I recently moved and have been making a new practice/recording space for myself. The room I'm using is actually an open closet that extends pretty far back with a dramatic downward slant (as if under a staircase). I put an old, shadeless lamp in there for light, and have really enjoyed the way the sharp angles of the space create crazy acoustics and awesome shadows. I started playing around with my phone, and ended up propping it up on an old easel and recording this song of mine.

I have a feeling I'll be sending out a lot more videos with this set-up, it worked really well.
Until later, bev

New Site 01/17/2012

Hey guys. I recently revamped my little website, I hope you like the changes. I'm streamlining things a bit until I can afford to launch a completely new website sometime within the year. From now on, I'll post new shows and music here, instead of keeping separate pages for everything. If you've seen me play live or watched some of my videos, please consider joining the mailing list. Where listeners live determines where I seek to play, so it matters! Thanks, as always, for listening and supporting little musicians like me. More soon.
